Meet Scholastic Superstar Ellagrace Miseo of Scranton High School
Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?
A: I’m most proud of acquiring leadership roles in community service-based clubs where I can continue to make changes in my community both in and out of school.
Q: Whom do you most admire and why?
A: I admire my sister for her unlimited curiosity and energy!
Q: What were your most rewarding school or community activities? Why?
A: The most rewarding community activity I participated in was becoming a counselor at Camp Wonder (a weeklong camp for children with chronic skin conditions). I loved getting to meet new people, learn about the medical field, and have fun all at the same time!
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: Violin, yoga, reading.
Q: What are your plans after high school graduation? Why did you choose this path?
A: Studying molecular biology at Princeton University on the pre-med track to become an orthopedic surgeon. I love science and have been surrounded by people in the medical field my whole life, so my love for medicine started very early.
Q: What is your advice to younger students?
A: Take every opportunity you can find. You never know what will open a door to a new passion, hobby or experience!

A: I have read every book in the “Harry Potter” series eight times!
A little about Ellagrace Miseo
Ellagrace Miseo of Scranton High School is the salutatorian of her class. Her school describes her as one of the most autonomous, driven and kind students in the school.
She is the daughter of Damien Miseo and Paige Summers.
She was recognized by the College Board as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program, is a violinist in a successful show choir, a peer mentor and tutor, a counselor at Camp Wonder, a certified yoga teacher and member of several clubs.
