United Way of Erie County has announced that Scot Galloway, Community School Director at Perry Elementary, has received a national honor recognizing his work in education.
Galloway was awarded the Institute for Educational Leadership Community School Coordinator Award, which recognizes a coordinator who demonstrates strong collaboration, inclusiveness, and leadership while helping achieve measurable results for students, families, and the broader community.
He was nominated by more than 10 teachers and staff members at Perry Elementary, highlighting the relationships and trust he has built within the school.
“This recognition is well deserved and speaks to the consistent, relationship-driven work Scot does at Perry,” said Mike Jaruszewicz, President of United Way of Erie County. “It also reflects the important work happening every day across all United Way Community Schools.”
Galloway was recognized on Wednesday, May 27, during the National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference in Long Beach, California. Jaruszewicz and Meghan Easter, Associate Vice President of Community Schools, accepted the award on his behalf.
United Way Community School Directors currently serve in 17 schools across Erie County, working to identify needs, coordinate resources, and strengthen partnerships that support student success.
