An Erie family is taking on a 100-mile cycling challenge to support their father, Jack, who has been living with Early-Onset Alzheimer’s for more than a decade.
According to the family’s GoFundMe page, biking around the peninsula has remained one of Jack’s greatest joys and has helped him stay active and connected despite the challenges of his condition.
Funds raised through the effort will help cover the care needed to keep Jack safely at home as his condition progresses. The fundraiser will also support the family as they continue providing the daily care he relies on.
The family says the ride is intended to highlight that Jack is “more than his diagnosis” and to inspire others to continue living fully despite difficult circumstances.
