(FOX40.COM) — A truck driver from Roseville has been charged with homicide and other offenses after authorities found a body under a blanket along a central Pennsylvania roadway over Memorial Day weekend, according to reports from FOX40’s sister station ABC27.
Pennsylvania State Police confirmed to FOX40 via email that the suspect has been identified as Ilia Romanchenko, 25, of Roseville. Troopers said Romanchenko has been charged through Dauphin County courts with criminal homicide in connection with the death investigation.
Officials reported that Troopers were called on Saturday to the 1800 block of River Road in Londonderry Township, where an unidentified man was found dead along the roadway.
On Tuesday, ABC27 reported that the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Oleksandr Hurianov, 53, of Roseville.
State police stated that Romanchenko was taken into custody and is currently being held by the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Department in Florida pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
Romanchenko also faces charges including abuse of a corpse, possession of an instrument of crime and tampering with evidence.

The court documents showed PSP contacted surrounding law enforcement agencies to identify the victim and determine if anyone had made a missing person report that matched the ID of Hurianov.
ABC27 reported that later, investigators were contacted by Middlesex Township police regarding a woman who had said her husband had gone missing and she had not heard from him for about 10 hours.
Authorities stated they asked for photos to be provided by the woman, who then matched the victim.
According to ABC27, troopers later learned from the trucking company owner that Romanchenko and Hurianov worked together as driving partners. The owner also told investigators that GPS data showed the truck the pair had been operating had veered off its expected route.
According to the affidavit, the owner spoke with Romanchenko by phone, during which Romanchenko allegedly said he and Hurianov had been involved in a fight.
Investigators stated that GPS records showed the truck stopped for several minutes near the location where Hurianov’s body was discovered before continuing to a Royal Farms convenience store in Ridley Park, Delaware County. Employees from the trucking company who went to retrieve the truck reportedly found blood inside the vehicle and contacted authorities.
State police also said surveillance footage from the Royal Farms appeared to show Romanchenko throwing away a plastic bag in a trash can, and investigators noted visible injuries on his hands.
Pennsylvania State Police said the homicide investigation remains active and ongoing.
