Police in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, warned residents to stay vigilant after receiving reports of black bear sightings in the area on Thursday, May 28.
The Gettysburg Police Department (GPD) released this footage on Facebook with a caption reading, in part, “While black bears are generally shy and tend to avoid humans, we want everyone to stay vigilant and take proper precautions.”
GPD advised residents not to approach or attempt to take up close photos or videos of the animal, keep all pets indoors, supervise children closely when outside, secure trash, and make noise when walking in wooded or low-visibility areas.
