The Dog Penn hosted their first ever “Howl-O-Ween Pawrade” last night drawing dozens of pups and their owners to the Strip District. Alissa and Travis May, owners of the popular dog park bar, led the parade while the May Day Marching Band performed along the route. The parade was on the owners’ minds when they opened The Dog Penn back in October of last year. Travis May told CP, “This first year we really want to get the parade going and build it over the next few years. I want to build this to where people are driving a couple hours to join in.” As dogs of all breeds and sizes trotted down Penn Ave. wearing various elaborate Halloween costumes, neighbors began to cheer on the parade, some joining in with their dogs.
