I’ll, let’s stay on the Mem Cup.

I don’t know if, you guys both saw this.

Hopefully you did.

But, Jordan Turney’s, was stomping on Kitchener’s Christian Humphreys leg during a, I don’t know what you call it, just kind of trying to- Drum.

Board battle board battle.

You’re just trying to- kill some time off the clock.

human run- rain delay as they say.

Ryan, what did you think of that?

Was that just vicious and dirty or is there any explanation?

I, yeah, it was pretty gross.

And, and actually just before we started filming, it came out that he is suspended for the rest of the tournament, which may be one game, it might be zero games- I’m not sure, with Chicoutimi.

But the NHL actually, takes care of discipline for the Memorial Cup, and so they’ve decided that he will not return.

yeah, it’s just a very unnecessary thing, ’cause it was multiple stomps.

It’s not like you could say like, “Oh, he was trying to like step on the puck and missed.”

Like, it was like three or four.

So yeah, just pretty gross.

Drew, what’d you make of that?

And like, how, like, when players are in vulnerable spots like that, and there was a spot, play like that in the Montreal game in game three where Jake Evans, you know, blocked a shot and the puck was kind of like in his midsection and he just tried to like fall on it, and then obviously everyone was just stabbing at the puck- and Jake Evans’ stomach area.

And I’m thinking, ah, like there’s gotta be some unwritten rule there where, you know, you see a player is either down or in a vulnerable spot and you obviously don’t kick or stomp ’em.

but you know, what did, what’d you make of it?

Yeah, I agree.

To me, this one, like there’s this, I mean, I’m not a huge fan of like the code in hockey, but it kind of goes to like the, I think it’s l- the one in Ottawa this year, right?

Like, a guy’s tied up with another player, you just don’t- Yeah there’s just things you don’t do.

Now, yeah, like if a guy falls on a puck, is it, like to me, I don’t really have a problem with a guy kinda maybe slashing him a little bit aggressively with his stick.

But I think just the, the s- kicking of the skate to a guy where you’ve got every tendon in your ankle there multiple times is just crossing the line for me.

So I actually think the r- suspension was very justifiable and don’t think that really has any place in the game.
