OBITUARY
Kathleen Virginia Thomas, 82, of St. Augustine, FL formerly of Taylor, PA, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Thomas, who passed away on February 14, 2022.
Born in Scranton, PA, Kathleen was the daughter of the late William and Leona (Ganz) Connolly. A 1961 graduate of West Scranton High School, she was employed at several organizations, including Capitol Records, Franklin First Federal Bank, JCPenney, and Diversified IT.
Kathleen is survived by her son, James, his wife Michelle, and her cherished grandson, Luke, all of St. Augustine, FL. She was the oldest of four and is preceded in death by her sister, Marie Vinciguerra (Scranton). She is survived by sister, Peggy Meade (Spring Brook), brother, John Connolly (Scranton), and several nieces and nephews.
Kathleen treasured time spent with the family’s children (most notably her grandson Luke) and had a passion for art and dancing. She and her husband enjoyed playing cards with friends and rarely missed a chance to jitterbug. She shared her love of country line dancing as an active participant with the Boot Scooters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 6, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Basilica in Scranton. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 South Main Street, Taylor.
