The Erie County Department of Health has launched a High-Risk Substance Dashboard. This dashboard, which is open to the public, displays information about high-risk substances that have been found in local wastewater.
The data included in the dashboard will come from weekly samples from the City of Erie wastewater treatment facility. The samples are then analyzed by Biobot Analytics that will measure any possible traces of drugs and other related substances.

The dashboard displays trends over time beginning in June 2024 while comparing the date to regional and national patterns. This information will allow substance abuse treatment providers, healthcare systems, and emergency services if there is a rapid increase in substances within the wastewater. It can also detect unusual spikes that may indicate that drug dumping has taken place.
Each week the date will be updated, and users can easily filter the data by substance with glossaries available with updated information.
