University of Scranton students join communication honor society
Mariah Mancuso, of Dunmore, and Cameron Moczulski, of Carbondale, both senior journalism and electronic media majors, were among 41 University of Scranton students inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the national honor society for communication. The honor society was founded in 1985 to encourage high levels of scholarship and leadership in the field of communications.
Nalon joins national honor society at PSU
Courtney Nelson, of Mayfield, was recently elected to membership in the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Pennsylvania State University.
Nelson is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10% of seniors and 7.5% of juniors are eligible for membership.
University of Scranton students inducted into biology honor society
Local residents were among the 44 University of Scranton students inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the national honor society for biology. For induction into the honor society, students must have completed at least three biology courses, maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average in biology, and be in good academic standing. The following locals were inducted:
Emily Cosklo, of Clifford Twp., a senior majoring in biology; Ayman Mounota, of Dunmore, a senior majoring in biology; Bhawana Lagun, of Olyphant, a sophomore majoring in biology; Kayla Duffy, of Mayfield, a senior majoring in biology; and Natalie Fuller, of Archbald, a junior majoring in biochemistry, cell, molecular biology.
Sikorski attends Commonwealth’s Career Intensive Bootcamp
Nicholas Sikorski, of Archbald, completed Commonwealth University’s Spring 2026 Career Intensive Boot Camp from March 6-8. Sikorski is majoring in international business at the Commonwealth’s Bloomsburg campus.
The Career Intensive Boot Camp is designed to make students confident professionals before they leave campus. Students spend the weekend practicing their professional communication and networking, learning how to leverage their transferrable skillset and interact with alumni in their chosen industry. Sessions included topics such as personal finance, workplace ethics, entrepreneurship and dining etiquette. Students also had the opportunity to have their resume and cover letter reviewed and participate in networking practice sessions and mock interviews.
University of Scranton students join criminal justice honor society
Nico Mancuso, of Carbondale, a junior majoring in criminal justice, and Nicholas Sokalsky, of Olyphant, a senior majoring in criminal justice, were among the University of Scranton students inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma, the national honor society for criminal justice students. For induction into the honor society, students must be a junior or senior having a criminal justice major or minor, complete at least four criminal justice courses, maintain a 3.2 grade point average overall as well as in criminal justice, and have a standing in the top 35% of the class.
Pickard inducted into psychology honor society
Russell Sage College, Troy, New York, announces Caroline Pickard, of Forest City, has been inducted into Sage’s chapter of Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology. Pickard is one of 14 new Russell Sage College inductees.
University of Scranton graduate students join honor society for counseling
Alexis Overholtz, of Dunmore, and America Fox, of Dunmore, both graduate students pursing clinical mental health counseling degrees, were among the 28 University of Scranton students inducted into Chi Delta Rho, the university’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society for counseling. The international honor society was established in 1985 to recognize outstanding achievement and service within the profession of counseling.
