Rodin Museum Garden Bar

The Rodin Museum Garden Bar has returned for its summer season, transforming the venue’s sculpture garden into a seasonal pop-up destination. Running Fridays through Aug. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m., the weekly Garden Bar features beer, wine, craft cocktails, and small plates curated by Constellation Culinary Group, but beyond that, visitors can step inside the museum or wander around the outdoor space to explore its galleries.

On top of fare from Constellation, the Rising Up Kitchen food truck will also be on site. The truck brings comfort-focused, Philadelphia-inspired fare to the Garden Bar every Friday night, and to the North Entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rotating menu leans into local favorites like roast pork sandwiches, cheesesteak egg rolls, Bavarian pretzels, and sweets, including chocolate chip cookies and frozen desserts, plus lighter bites and non-alcoholic drinks.

Admission to the Garden Bar is free; admission to the Rodin Museum is pay-what-you-wish, and leashed four-legged friends are welcome in the garden. The Garden Bar season also includes select programming. Schedules and more information can be found online.

Spruce Street Harbor Park

Returning for its 13th season, Spruce Street has once again transformed the city’s waterfront into an urban oasis along the Delaware River. Free and open to the public daily, this seasonal destination features colorful hammocks, floating barges, ambient lights, and waterfront seating, plus free entertainment and programming every Thursday through Saturday.

This year, the Waterfront is also introducing a lineup of new “on-the-water” experiences designed to bring guests even closer to the river. Visitors can pedal across the water aboard Chiliboats (aka aqua bikes), enjoy illuminated swan boat rides beneath the stars, or take in sweeping skyline views from new vantage points over the Delaware.

Returning attractions include the park’s signature floating experiences, plus seasonal cocktails, Philly-made snacks, beverages, and offerings from local food vendors. Visitors can pair it with entertainment like Live and Local Thursdays, Jazz Nights on Fridays, the Summer Sounds Concert Series on Saturdays, and Family Fundays with PopUpPlay on Sundays. Under the Stars Film Festival

Philly’s own arthouse cinema, cinéSPEAK, has launched its annual Under the Stars Film Festival. The four-week event uses the great outdoors (Clark Park) as its setting, and on top of the screenings, each iteration will also feature local artists, vendors, and grassroots organizations to create a unique pop-up festival experience.

Running every Friday until June 19, each evening begins with a community gathering and live music at 7 p.m., followed by the film program at 9 p.m. (the first three events have rain dates set in case of inclement weather). The main goal is to feature award-winning independent films from around the world while continuing to cultivate experiences and opportunities for filmmakers and moviegoers.

This week will feature a screening of ‘Steal this Story, Please’ and the World Premiere of  ‘Abolition Conversations: Episode 1’ on June 5. The former follows journalist Amy Goodman throughout her three decades of “truth-telling,” while the latter is a series of short videos featuring community stewards, activists, artists, and people impacted by mass incarceration.

Cirque du Soleil ‘LUZIA’

Cirque du Soleil’s Big Top has returned to the greater Philadelphia area for the first time since 2023 with ‘LUZIA’, and this weekend is your last chance to check out the production at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. The production invites audiences into “a dreamlike journey through an imagined Mexico, blending tradition and modernity with breathtaking acrobatics, vibrant storytelling, and immersive design.”

Audiences can expect aerialists soaring through rainfall, high-speed hoop diving and gravity-defying feats amongst a sea of colorful costumes and sets. Written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, tickets (various prices) are available online now, and the show will run until June 7.

Adventure Aquarium’s Boardwalk Experience

Adventure Aquarium is bringing the Shore indoors with The Boardwalk, a new immersive experience inspired by the Mid-Atlantic coastline. The activation transforms part of the Aquarium into a seaside escape complete with boardwalk-style flooring, cabana-inspired installations, lifeguard-style seating and colorful kites suspended overhead.

At the center of the experience is “Horseshoe Crab Harbor,” Adventure Aquarium’s fourth touch exhibit, where guests can interact with Horseshoe Crabs, which have existed for more than 400 million years. The exhibit is designed to highlight both their history and environmental importance through hands-on education for visitors of all ages. Aquarium admission tickets (starting around $33, kids 12 and under and seniors get a discount) are available online.
