PALMER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was arrested in Northampton County Wednesday for reportedly attempting to carjack an occupied truck.
Randolph Patrick Adams, 35, of Bethlehem, is facing multiple charges, including robbery of motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking, and unauthorize use of motor vehicle, Palmer Township police said.
On Wednesday at approximately 10:38 a.m., the Palmer Township Police responded to a business in the 2700 block of Freemansburg Ave, for reports of a man who entered an occupied vehicle and attempted to drive away, according to police.
Responding officers were able to locate the man, later identified as Randolph Patrick Adams, on Freemansburg Ave and took him into custody without incident, police said.
Investigators found that Adams entered a truck with a female passenger sitting inside on the passenger seat, according to Palmer Township police.
He reversed the truck as the female was screaming, then exited the truck and started running.
Adams was transported to the Palmer Township Police Department for processing and later arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Hutnik and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $50,000.00 bail straight, authorities said.
