Lake Erie deemed best lake by USA Today voters
The votes have been counted, and our Great Lake rose to the top.
Lake Erie was voted number one for “best lake” in USA Today’s Ten Best Readers’ Choice poll.
Headliners announced for 2026 Erie Blues and Jazz Festival
According to USA Today, both the lake’s tourism and recreation are credited for the win, along with its shoreline cities to explore.
VisitErie said the votes speak for themselves, and they show the community’s appreciation for Lake Erie.
“It’s certainly a reflection of community pride, and you know, we sit on the great natural asset that brings thousands and thousands of people here every year,” said Mark Jeanneret, interim president and CEO of VisitErie.
This summer has plenty of recreation and water sports activities in store to look forward to on the lake.
