Families facing food insecurity across Northwest Pennsylvania will soon have greater access to fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables through a new partnership between Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania and Grow Erie.
The two organizations announced their collaboration during a press conference held Friday at Grow Erie’s facility on Paragon Drive in Erie.
The partnership aims to connect locally grown produce with individuals and families in need, helping to address hunger while supporting local agriculture.
Through the initiative, fresh produce grown by Grow Erie will be distributed through Second Harvest’s network, reaching communities throughout the region.
The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of residents throughout the region by increasing the availability of fresh, locally sourced produce at food distributions and partner agencies served by Second Harvest Food Bank.
