BREINIGSVILLE, Pa. – Authorities say a Breinigsville man was driving under the influence in a wrong-way crash that left a 27-year-old man dead.
Kevin Krum, 62, is charged with felony counts of Homicide by Vehicle While Driving Under the Influence and Homicide by Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and other offenses, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
The DA’s office said Krum was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Michael Faulkner and was released on $100,000 unsecured bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. July 20 before Faulkner.
Around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 19, 2026, police were called to a wrong-way crash at Route 100 between Beachwood Street and Wertman Road, the DA’s office said.
The investigation revealed that Krum was driving a pickup truck southbound when he crossed the double-yellow line and hit another vehicle head on, according to the DA’s office.
The DA’s office said Oneil D. Fletcher, 27, of Lansford, was driving that vehicle. Fletcher died from multiple blunt force trauma due to motor vehicle collision and his death was ruled accidental by the Lehigh County Coroner.
The investigation revealed that Krum had been driving erratically prior to the crash, the DA’s office said.
Authorities said Krum’s blood-alcohol content shortly after the crash was 0.195 percent.
As police were investigating the crash, they were alerted about a hit-and-run crash that happened just a short time before, the DA’s office said in its news release.
According to the DA’s office, Krum’s truck damaged a vehicle also traveling on Route 100 southbound.
Authorities said Krum did not stop for that collision.
