Students inducted into communication honor society at Scranton

Lily Abreu, of Wilkes-Barre, a senior pursing an advertising/public relations degree, and Molly Houston, of Duryea, a senior pursing an advertising/public relations degree, were among the 41 University of Scranton students inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the national honor society for communication.

Weidner elected to Phi Kappa Phi

Emily Weidner, of Dallas, was recently elected to membership into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Weidner is a student at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania.

Orlandini joins international business honor society

Sarah Ann Orlandini, of Avoca, was among the 25 University of Scranton students inducted into the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences Omega Rho, the international honor society recognizing academic excellence in business analytics and supply chain management.

Zemetro joins English honor society at Scranton

Amanda Zemetro, a sophomore English major from Warrior Run, was among the University of Scranton students inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the national honor society in English.

University of Scranton students join counseling and human services honor society

Sherlyn Cortes Diaz, of Wilkes-Barre, a sophomore counseling and human services major, and Miles Edward Doran, of Exeter, a junior counseling and human services major, were among the 20 University of Scranton students inducted into Tau Upsilon Alpha, the national human services honor society.

Pomrinke inducted into Stonehill College’s honor society

Kira Pomrinke, of Dallas, a member of Stonehill College’s Class of 2027, was recently inducted into Lambda Epsilon Sigma, Stonehill’s honor society. The organization recognizes outstanding juniors and seniors who have demonstrated an excitement for learning and sharing their knowledge.

Local residents inducted into biology honor society at Scranton

The following local residents were among the 44 University of Scranton students inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the national honor society for biology, which encourages undergraduate biological research through presentations at conventions, publication in the journal BIOS and research/travel grants:

Manal Muhammad, of Mountain Top, a junior majoring in biology; Lainey Conway, of Mountain Top, a junior majoring in biochemistry, cell, molecular biology; Matthew George, of Avoca, a senior majoring in neuroscience; and Rylee Geffert, of Larksville, a sophomore majoring in biology.

Smith inducted into criminal justice honor society at Scranton

Sarayah Smith, of Dallas, was among the University of Scranton students inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma, the national honor society for criminal justice students. Smith is a senior majoring in criminal justice.
