Two local youth sports programs teamed up today for a fundraiser aimed at keeping kids on the field — and helping families cover the costs of travel and equipment.
At Greengarden Lanes, the Erie Elite Spartans and Pure Pressure Diamondz Cheer & Majorette Dance Company hosted their first-ever bowling fundraiser.
Families and supporters spent the afternoon bowling and bidding in raffle auctions to help the programs continue growing.
Organizers say events like this are critical so every child can participate, regardless of cost.
“It’s the love, it’s the presence. They get to know these kids individually so in the future when they see them, they know these kids come from a good start,” said Montrell Moore, a Defense coordinator for The Erie Spartans
The event ran from noon to three, with walk-ins welcome.
