Judicial candidates forum hosted by the New PA Project Education Fund.
During the Wednesday night Judicial Candidate Forum, residents brought up concerns about affordable houses, legalizing marijuana, and how the court system in Erie handles delayed cases and access to justice, especially for lower-income families.
Both Mosco Merski and Lightner were asked tough questions about their backgrounds and their plans to tackle those issues.
The Booker T. Washington Organization hosted a judicial candidate forum where contenders for Erie County Judge discussed their qualifications and approaches to justice.
Emily Mosco-Merski highlighted her decade of experience in both private practice and public defense, representing children and parents in crisis. Jeremy Lightner pointed to his role as Trial Chief Deputy District Attorney in Erie County, emphasizing his courtroom experience and commitment to fairness.
Mosco-Merski stated that in her courtroom, she strives to listen to where everyone is coming from.
Lightner stated that a huge part of directing the youth is getting them into a program that will shape their future for the better.
