After falling short in the playoffs last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to get a significant boost from their revamped roster this year, which includes exciting new additions like Michael Pittman Jr., Rico Dowdle and Jamel Dean.

They might see improvement on the sidelines as well under new head coach Mike McCarthy and his new coaching staff.
On Monday, Pittsburgh radio host Mark Madden made a bold prediction about how much better McCarthy’s staff will be than his predecessor’s.
“You know what I think we’re going to realize this year? That Tomlin was an awful coach and had an awful staff,” Madden said on 105.9 The X. “I think the difference in seeing how the coaches operate already, and I think this is gonna be a much more buttoned-up team. I think it’s gonna be so readily evident and right away.”

Tomlin led the Steelers to 10 wins and an AFC North title last year, so it’s hard to say he did a bad job. However, it’s fair to criticize him, his stubbornness and his inability to get over the hump.
McCarthy has a similar track record, so it’s hard to tell if he’s a better coach than Tomlin. Still, it sounds like Madden already believes McCarthy is making a difference and improving on his predecessor.
