(WJET/WFXP)– The Erie man charged after allegedly cutting a police officer with a knife appeared for his preliminary hearing on Monday.
According to court records, 31-year-old Nabitu Musabika appeared before Judge Edward Wilson on charges of aggravated assault, evading arrest and related misdemeanors for allegedly cutting a City of Erie police officer during an incident on May 19.

Court records show all six charges were waived to court, with Musabika still being held in the Erie County Prison on $150,000 bond.
Musabika was arrested the morning of May 19 after Erie police said they received reports of a man with a knife saying he may harm himself.
According to documents, when the officer arrived on the scene, Musabika began running away and a scuffle ensued when officers caught up to him.

Once police got him on the ground, they said Musabika refused to comply and cut the officer on the wrist with a knife.
His case now heads to the Court of Common Pleas.
