Isaac Ryon, Lackawanna Trail’s record-setting running back and last season’s Pennsylvania Sports Writers’ Class 1A Player of the Year, headlines the list of seniors who will compete in the 92nd Scranton Lions Club Dream Game in July.

Rosters for the City all-star team and the County were announced Monday. Holy Cross coach Joe Giorgio will guide the City squad, which Ryon is a part of, and Carbondale Area coach Jeff Arthur will lead the County stars.

This year’s game is July 22 at 7 p.m. at John Henzes/Veterans Memorial Stadium. The County beat the City, 41-17, in last year’s game and leads the all-time series, 44-42-4.

Last fall, Ryon, who is walking on at Montana State, earned The Times-Tribune Offensive Player of the Year award after setting LIAA records with 2,876 rushing yards, 54 total touchdowns, and 354 points in a season. He finished his career with 4,969 yards, which ranks ninth in LIAA history, and set Lackawanna Trail records with 82 rushing touchdowns and 89 total touchdowns.

The County all-stars will counter with Abington Heights graduate and Lackawanna College commit Gavin Anders. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver set school records with 74 receptions, 1,158 yards, and 10 touchdowns. He is the program’s all-time leader in career receptions (143) and receiving yards (2,053).

Giorgio will coach five players from his Holy Cross team. The Crusaders include Kevin Vincent (RB/LB), Gregg Novak (OL/DL), Branden Fadl (OL/DL), Aiden Wudarski (RB/CB), and Leland Wudarski (FB/MLB).

Arthur will have one final chance to coach Carbondale Area graduates, wide receiver David Myers and lineman Jaiden Keller.

North Pocono, last season’s Times-Tribune No. 1 team and the Lackawanna Football Conference Division I and District 2 Class 4A champions, has six representatives on the City roster.

Running back Josiah Gray and lineman Cole Zimmerman were both All-Region selections last season. Linemen Dylan Caster, Warren Kramer, and Gabe Descipio, and linebacker Aiden Maguire are the Trojans named to the roster.

Delaware Valley, last season’s District 2 Class 5A champion, has the most players selected to participate in the game. The Warriors have seven players on the County roster. They include All-Region running back Mike Iuzzolino, who ran for 3,431 career yards, All-Region linebacker Justin Estevez, and All-Region kicker Reagan Decker.

Quarterback Colin McGarvey, defensive back Shaun Cannalley, and linemen Chris Renna and Josh Rhein will also represent Delaware Valley.

Wallenpaupack lineman Jamie Stiner, Scranton Prep defensive lineman Anthony De Los Santos, Lackawanna Trail defensive lineman Blake Stage, and linebackers Tyler Jervis and Colin Owens are All-Region players who are also members of the City roster.

Lakeland quarterback David Naniewicz, the LFC Division II player of the year who led his team to a District 2 Class 2A championship, Abington Heights defensive lineman/tight end Cayd Sespico, who had 201 career tackles, and Riverside special teams standout Santino D’Amico, who had 49 extra points and two field goals, are also All-Region players for the County all-stars.
