Philadelphia law enforcement officials are set to cast a wide net across Center City Philadelphia as a new Joint Public Safety Hub is set to open on Market Street on Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning at 11 a.m., Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker is expected to cut the ribbon on a new Joint Public Safety Hub that will be located at the Jefferson Center, located near the intersection of 11th and Market streets in Center City.
Ahead of the day’s event, city officials said the new Joint Public Safety Hub is intended to be a central location where officials from Jefferson, SEPTA’s police force and the Philadelphia Police Department will be able to coordinate efforts.
In a statement, officials said the new hub would be used to “enhance coordination and strengthen safety across campuses, transit corridors, and surrounding neighborhoods.”
Just how the new hub will be utilized and what areas will be focused on in this coordination effort is expected to be discussed during an event to open the Joint Public Safety Hub on Tuesday morning.
The hub was set to open at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
