OBITUARY
Susan V. Derenick, 66, of Estero, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2026.
Born on June 22, 1959, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Sue was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Gall) Derenick. She had been a resident of Estero for the past five years, having relocated from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.
Sue was a graduate of Riverside High School in Taylor, Pennsylvania. She continued her education at Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, where she earned her associate degree. Following her studies, Sue enjoyed a successful career as a legal secretary, working for more than 25 years with several prominent law firms in the Scranton area.
She was a member of Shadow Wood Country Club and enjoyed spending her leisure time working on puzzles. She loved animals and always looked forward to feeding the deer when back in Clarks Summitt, Pennsylvania. Sue will be remembered for her caring nature, kind heart, and the love she shared with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving companion of 35 years, Andrew G. “Jerry” Zubert of Estero, Florida and Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; her two brothers, Andrew J. Derenick of Elmhurst Township, Pennsylvania, and Edward A. Derenick of Chattanoga, Tennessee; her sister, Lorraine Sharifi of Orlando, Florida; two nieces, Sheereen Sharifi and Shantel Sharifi; and three nephews, Blake Derenick, Ryan Derenick, and Connor Mullaney.
