OREFIELD, Pa.- America’s 250th birthday is so close, you can almost taste it.

That’s especially true if you’re a fan of A-Treat soda.

The iconic Lehigh Valley brand is rolling out a special limited-edition Cherry Cola in honor of the coming semiquincentennial.

The 20-ounce bottles come complete with a patriotic red, white and blue label and will be available beginning this week at grocery stores, convenience stores and beverage distributors. They can also be ordered online on A-Treat’s website.

The new Cherry Cola offers a “crisp, bold taste beautifully balanced with a rich, sweet cherry twist,” the company said.

“America’s 250th anniversary is obviously a monumental milestone, and as a historic brand with deep roots right here in Pennsylvania, we wanted to create something spectacular to honor our nation’s heritage,” said David Jaindl, President and CEO of Jaindl Beverage Company, in a news release.

“A-Treat has been a beloved part of family traditions and local gatherings since 1918. Our new Cherry Cola blends a classic, nostalgic flavor with a patriotic presentation that reflects our shared national pride and we are thrilled to celebrate America’s 250th with our lifelong consumers and welcome a new generation of A-Treat lovers.”

A-Treat was made and bottled in Allentown for nearly a century. The soda has been produced and distributed by Jaindl Beverage Company, a division of the Jaindl Companies, since 2015.
