A Bethlehem Township man admitted Wednesday to killing his wife last year in their home.

James Frank, 58, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the March 11, 2025, killing of his wife, Deborah Glaser, 55, according to Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta.

Frank cut her throat with a steak knife, then used a knife and hammer to puncture her throat, township police have said.

Police were called to their home in the 2100 block of Third Street after a family member reported they were concerned about the well-being of those in the house.

After police arrived and no one answered the door, they used a ladder and tried to get into the home through a second-story window. Frank met officers at the window, and they told him to meet them at the front door, police said.

When police spoke to him at the door, he said, “My wife is dead in the bathtub,” according to court documents.

Glaser was found in the tub with multiple wounds to her chest.

Frank admitted he killed her, and authorities found knives, razor blades, box cutters, a hammer and mallet in the bathroom.

Frank faces a sentence of life in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 17.
