An Erie County jury has found a 27-year-old Erie man guilty in connection with a fatal fentanyl overdose that claimed the life of another Erie resident in 2023.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced that Stewart Correll was convicted on June 11 of Drug Delivery Resulting in Death, Criminal Use of a Communication Facility, and related offenses stemming from an incident that occurred on May 20, 2023.
According to prosecutors, evidence presented during the trial included text messages showing that Correll supplied two counterfeit M30 pills containing fentanyl to Corey Sadzewicz during the late evening hours of May 19, 2023.
The Commonwealth argued that the pills delivered by Correll led to Sadzewicz’s death the following day.
After deliberations, the jury returned guilty verdicts on all charges. Following the verdict, Correll was remanded to the Erie County Prison, where he will remain until sentencing.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 10, 2026, at 8:45 a.m. before Senior Judge William R. Cunningham.
