A Scranton man was found guilty of federal drug trafficking and firearms charges after a three-day trial recently.

Keith Fox Jr., 48, faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. He was found guilty of possessing methamphetamine for the purposes of distribution and illegally possessing firearms and ammunition, according to the United States attorney’s office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

According to U.S. Attorney Brian D. Miller, on May 20, a jury found Fox guilty of possessing over 500 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine for distribution and of possessing three firearms and ammunition illegally due to a prior felony conviction.

The government presented evidence that on Aug. 22, 2024, after several months of investigation, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Fox’s Scranton residence.

They discovered an automated pill press and multiple other items used to manufacture illicit pills. They also seized more than 1,000 pills containing methamphetamine and other controlled substances, methamphetamine powder, a large amount of ammunition and three handguns, including one with an obliterated serial number.

Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 14, before District Judge Joseph Saporito Jr.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Lackawanna County district attorney’s office, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General- Bureau of Narcotics Investigations and the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jenny P. Roberts and Senior Deputy Assistant Attorney General Michelle Hardik prosecuted the case.
