A tractor trailer hauling iced tea caught fire in Berks County, causing traffic backups early Thursday morning.
Route 222 northbound was closed after the fire that broke out between the Bernville Road/Strausstown and Route 61-North Pottsville exits. All lanes have since reopened.

Nobody was injured.
The Muhlenberg Township Fire and Rescue Chief said crews responded shortly after 3 a.m. for a trailer on fire. Crews arrived to find the trailer and its contents fully involved, the chief said.

It took about a half hour to get the fire under control.
Fire crews say the load of iced tea was so thoroughly destroyed it couldn’t be towed.
