An Allentown man is accused of raping a child 10 years ago in the city, according to authorities.
Christian Tavares, 25, was arraigned Friday on charges alleging he raped the boy, who was 5 years old at the time, in a home on South Ninth Street, District Attorney Gavin Holihan said in a news release.
The alleged victim reported in April that Tavares sexually assaulted him in 2015, police said.
Tavares remains free on $50,000 unsecured bail. He is charged with rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, endangering child welfare, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
