ALLENTOWN, Pa. – After resolving liquor license issues, a popular restaurant and bar will once again serve up classic and signature cocktails, wines by the glass, draft beer and more in Lehigh County.

Pennsylvania Rye Company, specializing in craft cocktails, whiskey and made-from-scratch food, will reopen on Wednesday, June 17, at 536 Hamilton St. in downtown Allentown, according to signage posted on the business’ door.

The business temporarily closed on May 28 as it awaited its liquor license renewal, co-owner Jesse Haik previously told 69 News.

Haik and his best friend, Dan Gonzalez, opened Pennsylvania Rye Company in 2022.

The bi-level space, with seating for more than 100 guests, was the longtime home of the former Federal Grill restaurant.

It also once housed Grain, an establishment showcasing new takes on American-style comfort food, which shuttered in 2018 after a few years of business.

With more than 42 years of combined experience in the hospitality industry, Haik and Gonzalez breathed new life into the downtown space.

Over the past four years, Pennsylvania Rye Company has become a popular spot for whiskey drinkers and foodies alike.

Guests can enjoy small plates such as grilled octopus, pickled veggies, cast iron wild mushrooms and truffle parm fries; handhelds such as a cheesesteak, turkey club, fried chicken sandwich and PRC burger (6-ounce fresh ground beef patty, Cooper American cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion); and entrees such as Bolognese, cider glazed short rib, pork shank and skirt steak.
