A Boulder police officer was arrested Monday afternoon in Erie on a domestic violence charge.
Matthew Herkalo faces charges of domestic violence harassment and official misconduct, according to a Boulder police news release.
Herkalo, who has been an officer with the Boulder Police Department since July 2024, was off-duty when the reported incident happened, according to the release. Additional information about the situation, including an arrest affidavit, was not immediately available.
The department placed Herkalo on paid administrative leave, per department policy.
