ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Representative Ryan Mackenzie was in the community on Saturday — hosting a food drive for his constituents.

Mackenzie was joined alongside several other Pennsylvania state lawmakers for Saturday’s event.

With the deadline for SNAP funding approaching– Mackenzie says they sent out an email earlier in the week to put the food drive together.

“With the support of so many volunteers and people in the community, we were able to collect over 2,000 pounds of food in just a couple of days time — and an additional amount of funding in personal contributions. It’s gonna go to individuals in need right now, but there is so much more that needs to be done right now,” said Rep. Ryan Mackenzie.

All supplies donated will benefit local food banks.
