The case against a New York man charged in a hit-and-run crash that killed two Berks County fire chiefs is moving through the courts.

A formal arraignment for Alexander Sepulveda-Rivera took place Tuesday morning.

Authorities say he was driving under the influence in April, when he hit an off-road vehicle on Route 222 in Richmond Township.

Walnuttown Fire Chief Jeff Buck and Assistant Chief Robert Shick were on that vehicle. They were killed.

At the time, they were searching for a missing woman.
