‘Fame: The Musical’
A community theater production of “Fame: The Musical” is at the Majestic Theater in Pottsville all weekend. See what made the 1980s movie and television show hits. It is set in a real New York City performing arts high school that is still nicknamed the “Fame” school. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The theater is located at 209 N. Eckley Miners’ Village Patchtown Days
A regional landmark, Eckley Miners’ Village, holds its annual Patchtown Days festival Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stone House Breakdown will play an after-hours bluegrass concert Saturday. The village is in Weatherly, 8 miles east of Hazleton. Tickets cost $10 for adults and less for seniors and youths. See eckleyminersvillage.com.
A timely production of ‘1776’
See the Founding Fathers sing and dance in Scranton. Community theater groups Diva Productions and Actors Circle will produce the Tony Award-winning musical “1776.” Shows run all weekend and June 25-28 at West Scranton Intermediate School. Electric City Flower Show
The Electric City Flower Show is Saturday on the grounds of the Everhart Museum in Scranton’s Nay Aug Park. Comedian Daniel Tosh
Limited tickets are left for comedian Daniel Tosh’s visit to the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday at 7 p.m. The Comedy Central veteran is touring with his “Daniel Tosh: My First Farewell Tour” and has a video podcast called “TOSH SHOW.” Tickets cost $28.35, plus online fees.
