Grace A. Morris
OBITUARY
Grace A. Morris, 93, of Cantonment, FL, and formerly of Scranton and Mount Bethel, PA, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Sodalis Hospice following an illness.
Born April 5, 1933 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Elsie (Klee) Schweitzer.
Grace was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by H&R Block in Scranton, earlier in her life Grace was employed by Bell Telephone Co.
Grace was a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton where she served as the church organist. She also led the Bell Choir and the Sounds of Peace Choir for many years.
She lived in Scranton for most of her life until she and her husband built a home in Mount Bethel, PA where she attended the Mount Bethel Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her sons: David M. Morris, Brian T. Morris, and wife Letha and Mark A. Morris and wife Jessica with whom she resided; her sister Lorraine Schweitzer Pensak; and her brother Harold Schweitzer; grandchildren: Brittany, Brian Jr., Gavin and Carter and nieces and nephews.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Marshall N. Morris in 2006, and her sisters Ruth Schweitzer, Carolyn Scweitzer Brzowsky, Elsie Schweitzer, and Lillian Schweitzer Kopatz Wheeler
Grace was also preceded in death by her companion Tom Percival.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Dunmore Cemetery, 400 Church Street, Dunmore, PA.
Friends will be received on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the family lot at Dunmore Cemetery.
