ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A 15-year-old is facing charges after a reported stabbing, Allentown police said. 

On Wednesday at 2:05 p.m., Allentown police responded to the 500 block of North New Street for a report of a stabbing, according to a news release. 

Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year-old girl suffering from a stab wound, officials said.

She was transported to a local hospital by Allentown E.M.S with serious injuries, authorities said.

Police say that investigation led to the identification of the perpetrator, a 15-year-old boy.

He was located and taken into custody without incident.

He will not be identified at this time due to his age, according to police.

He was remanded to juvenile detention and is facing criminal attempt at homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, and possession of instruments of crime charges, police said.
