An Erie County jury has convicted an Erie man of third-degree murder in connection with the death of another Erie resident in 2024.
Following a weeklong trial, a jury found Jeffrey Edmond guilty of third-degree murder for the death of Ledomperignon Eady on June 12. Edmond was also convicted of Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Assault.
According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, Eady was beaten to death on Oct. 30, 2024, near the intersection of West 26th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Erie.
During the trial, prosecutors Jeremy Lightner and Brendan Sala presented video evidence, testimony from a cooperating co-defendant, and physical evidence. Prosecutors argued that Edmond threatened Eady, drove around searching for him, and ultimately beat him to death after locating him.
The jury returned guilty verdicts on all three charges following deliberations.
Edmond is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 7, 2026, before Erie County Judge John J. Mead.
The case was prosecuted by the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
