Corinne Cavanaugh, Coughlin Gerhart (SUBMITTED)
Corinne K. Cavanaugh has joined the firm as an associate. Her practice focuses on public law, with an emphasis on representing municipalities in land use, zoning and planning matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Cavanaugh practiced for several years at a firm in Secaucus, New Jersey, where she served as a paralegal, law clerk, and later as an associate attorney in the firm’s land use and planning group. In that role, she regularly appeared before municipal boards, drafted redevelopment plan amendments, advised on environmental compliance issues, and handled matters ranging from real estate transactions to guardianship proceedings. She also gained public-sector experience with the City of Bayonne Law Department and Municipal Court, and earlier interned with the Connecticut General Assembly, where she was recognized with a General Assembly Citation for exemplary legislative service.
Cavanaugh earned her J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law School, where she was active in the Latin American Law Students Association. She received her B.A. in political science from Sacred Heart University and participated in the University’s Pre-Law Club.
She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Her admission to the New York state bar is pending.

Michelle M. Karas has been appointed senior vice president and chief operating officer of the bank and corporation effective Aug. 13. Karas has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry, including information technology, deposit operations, loan operations, digital banking, call center, bank marketing, strategic planning, imaging and document management, facilities management, investor relations, vendor management and training.
Karas formerly served as senior vice president, chief data officer and corporate secretary for Penns Woods Bancorp Inc., the holding company for Jersey Shore State Bank and Luzerne Bank.
A graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Karas is also a graduate of the School of Bank Marketing and Management, the Central Atlantic Advanced School of Banking and the Central Atlantic Commercial Lending School. She published several articles in various financial services magazines, presented at various banking conferences, and taught various banking courses for the American Bankers Association and the American Institute of Banking.

Dr. Kimberly Olszewski, DNP, MSN, BSN, FAAN, FAANP, FAAOHN, dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, has been selected to serve as a member of the inaugural Elsevier Product Advisory Council.
The council represents a groundbreaking initiative by Elsevier to bring together leading nurse educators from across the country to guide product innovation, provide feedback on educational resources, and ensure solutions meet the evolving needs of faculty and students.
Olszewski is a highly accomplished nurse educator and practitioner. She has served as an accreditor for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education for more than a decade, ensuring academic excellence in nursing programs nationwide. Her professional distinctions include recognition as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Fellow of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses. Olszewski currently serves on the American Nurses Association Board for the Individual Membership Division.
Olszewski earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chatham University, Master of Science in nursing and Adult Nurse Practitioner certification from Bloomsburg University, and Bachelor of Science in nursing from Lycoming College.

University alumnus, trustee and Scranton native Frank Kelleher, president of Daytona International Speedway and NASCAR Southeast Properties, recently served as a judge for the Miss America competition, one of the nation’s most iconic and celebrated events.
Kelleher was chosen for the prestigious role based on his professional expertise, leadership and long-standing record of excellence.
He is one of the most visible executives in American motorsports. As president of Daytona International Speedway — the “World Center of Racing” — he directs operations for the Daytona 500, Rolex 24, Daytona 200, Daytona Supercross, and North America’s largest rock music festival, Welcome to Rockville. He also oversees Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, the latter set to host NASCAR’s Championship Weekend in 2026.
A lifelong racer and two-time World Karting Association Champion, Kelleher earned his Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Marywood University and continues to give back as a member of the university’s board. He resides in Ormond Beach, Florida.

The Pennsylvania personal injury law firm announced that former U.S. Rep. Matthew A. Cartwright has rejoined the firm as Of Counsel following his distinguished 12-year tenure in Congress.
Before his congressional service, Cartwright spent 25 years as a partner at the firm, establishing himself as one of the region’s most respected trial attorneys. During his legal career, he was inducted into the prestigious International Society of Barristers (2008) and served on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice (2009-2012). He also co-authored West Publishing’s authoritative legal treatise, Litigating Commercial and Business Tort Cases.
From 2013 to 2025, Cartwright represented Pennsylvania’s 8th and 17th congressional districts, where he built a reputation for effective bipartisan leadership.
As Of Counsel, Cartwright will focus on complex personal injury litigation and provide strategic counsel on regulatory and governmental issues. He joins his son, Jack Cartwright, who came aboard as an associate attorney earlier this year.
Cartwright holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he spent two years as an editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College.

Morgan and Sheeder will be providing technical assistance to clients and informational assistance to businesses regarding government contracting opportunities. They will assist companies with their expansion and/or entry into contracting with federal, state and local governments within the APEX Accelerator program.
Morgan earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from King’s College. He resides in Mountain Top. Sheeder earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in marketing from King’s College. She resides in Shavertown.
