CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — A child is in the hospital after a crash involving an electric bicycle in Lackawanna County.
According to Clarks Summit Police, an 11-year-old boy was riding a motocross-style e-bike along Harwood Avenue in the borough Thursday morning when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Earl Street and was struck by a vehicle.
The boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say the bike was unregistered and remind the public that it is illegal to operate an e-bike under the age of 16, with seven traffic citations issued over the past month.
