Cumru police set parking restrictions, road closures for Mifflin Community Days

Cumru Township police are alerting the community to parking restrictions and road closures to accommodate increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic during the upcoming 50th annual Greater Gov. Mifflin League Community Days.

Mifflin Days runs June 26 through July 4 at the Gov. Mifflin Intermediate School campus off Governor Drive.

Police announced the following parking restrictions and road closures:

• No parking in the 500 block of Governor Drive from Eric to Elkins avenues from 3 to 11 p.m. during the entire event.

• No parking in the 200 block of Elkins Avenue from Governor to Marshall drives from 3 to 11 p.m. during the entire event.

• No parking on Governor Drive from Philadelphia to Elkins avenues all day on July 3 and 4. This includes Taylor Avenue between Marshall Avenue and Governor Drive, and Eric Avenue between Marshall Avenue and Governor Drive.

• No parking on Elkins Avenue from Governor Drive to Harding Avenue all day on July 3 and 4.

• The 600 block of Governor Drive will be closed except for resident traffic during the entire event.

• Governor Drive from Philadelphia to Elkins avenues, and Elkins Avenue from Marshall to Governor drives will be closed from 7 p.m. on July 4 until normal traffic flow resumes following the fireworks. This also includes Taylor Avenue between Marshall Avenue and Governor Drive, and Eric Avenue between Marshall Avenue and Governor Drive.

No parking and road closed signs will be posted. Vehicles violating parking restrictions can be towed at owner’s expense. Any vehicle not authorized to be on the road or not deemed local traffic upon closure are subject to a violation and penalties.
