Independence Day Concert at St. John’s: 7 p.m. Monday, June 29. St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston. In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. A combined choir from the surrounding area will lead attendees in song; the program also features other instrumental selections. Holy Rosary School choir of Duryea also will perform. Guest instrumentalists include a brass quartet of Dale Chase, Dan Coyle, Chuck Smith, and Geoff Speicher; flutist Cindy Thomas, and percussionist Monica Spishock. Free-will offering accepted.
