Otters add Makaric as newest assistant coach
The Erie Otters have hired Kyle Makaric as the team’s newest assistant coach on Kris Mallette’s staff.
Makaric comes from Saginaw as the 37-year-old spent last season as an assistant coach with the Spirit.
The Otters’ newest assistant led a top-5 power play in Saginaw last season while bringing experience featuring two CCHL Championships as Head Coach of the Ottawa Jr. Senators, including being named the Coach of the Year in the league in 2023.
Makaric will lead the Otters’ forwards and power play as he is set to begin his second season in the OHL and first with Erie.
