Dozens of people gathered at Calamari’s Squid Row Thursday evening as the Pennsylvania Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Home recognized the individuals who dedicate their time and talents to supporting local veterans.
The annual Volunteer Recognition Reception celebrated the many volunteers who play an important role in enhancing the lives of residents at the Erie veterans home.
Organizers said volunteers contribute in a variety of ways, from assisting with activities and spending time with residents to helping raise funds for special events, entertainment, and programs throughout the year.
Their efforts help provide meaningful experiences for veterans and their families while supporting the home’s mission of delivering quality care and services to those who served.
