The motorcyclist who was shot by a police officer after a road rage incident in Bensalem has been released from the hospital.

Identity released of man shot in an officer-involved shooting in Bensalem Township

44-year-old John Mathis is being held on a $1 million bail for a different road rage incident.

Police say Mathis had an active warrant against him from a July 27th incident where he allegedly used a baseball bat to smash a windshield.

Charges for Saturday’s Bensalem incident are still pending.

Motorcyclist with gun shot by police after confrontation in Bensalem Township

Mathis allegedly pointed a gun at people in a car before following them down Bristol Pike.

Police say he rammed his motorcycle into the side of a police cruiser before running away, armed with a handgun.

Mathis has several arrests dating back to 2001.
