The Erie SeaWolves are set to begin the second half of the Eastern League season on June 23, and fans can expect one of the busiest and most exciting homestands of the year at UPMC Park.
With all teams starting the second half with a 0-0 record, Erie will open the stretch run with a six-game series against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, a rematch of the Eastern League Championship Series.
The week is packed with special promotions, giveaways, themed nights, and fireworks as the SeaWolves kick off summer and begin celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
The homestand opens June 23, with Hometown Tuesday and Erie Piñatas Night as part of Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la Diversión celebration. Fans can enjoy a Latin-themed game-day experience featuring music, decorations, specialty food and beverages, and the return of the Erie Piñatas identity.
On June 24, dogs take center stage during Bark at the Park. Fans can bring well-behaved, leashed dogs to the game and participate in a postgame run around the bases. A Pet Expo will also be featured on the concourse.
Thursday’s game will feature the popular $2 Buck Thursday promotion, with Smith’s hot dogs, popcorn, Pepsi fountain drinks, and select domestic draft beers available for just $2.
Star Wars fans will have their chance to shine June 26, during Star Wars Night. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters while the SeaWolves wear special themed jerseys. A fireworks show will follow the game.
The excitement continues June 27, with a patriotic button-up shirt giveaway for the first 1,000 fans through the gates. The special design celebrates America’s upcoming 250th birthday with fireworks and SeaWolves-themed patriotic graphics.
The homestand concludes June 28, with the annual MEGA Blast Fireworks Show, billed as the largest fireworks display in team history.
