President Donald Trump will visit Lower Macungie Township on Tuesday afternoon to deliver a speech at Mack Trucks.

The visit was confirmed last week by Republican U.S. Reps. Ryan Mackenzie and Dan Meuser.

Here’s what we know about the visit.

How will the visit impact traffic?

State police said to expect delays between noon and 5 p.m. in Lehigh and Berks counties, specifically on Route 222 in both counties, and on Route 100 in Lehigh. Secondary roads in those areas will also likely be affected, police said.

Is the visit open to the public?

It is a ticketed event. As of Monday afternoon, the link to register for tickets — two per mobile number — was still live. According to the site, the president is expected to speak at 2 p.m.

What will the president be speaking about?

A White House spokesperson told the Philadelphia Inquirer on Monday that Trump will talk about investments in American manufacturing and job growth, and will “stand with the American workers he has fought for.”

He also discussed the economy during his last visit to the region, in Mount Pocono in December 2025.

Why the Lehigh Valley?

The president has made multiple visits to the Lehigh Valley over the past few years, including the PPL Center in Allentown ahead of the 2024 election. He stopped in Schnecksville about six months before that.

Vice President JD Vance visited Uline in Lower Macungie Township in December, also to talk about the economy.

During his own visit to a different Mack Trucks site on Friday, Mackenzie said the White House began looking for a location for the president to visit in the Lehigh Valley or the Poconos within the last week.

“The reason we put [Mack Trucks] on the list in the first place is because we love to tell the story about American manufacturing and what goes on right here in the Lehigh Valley, he said. “So we’re very excited that we’re gonna be able to share that with the president.”

While Tuesday’s visit is an official presidential visit, it comes as Mackenzie, who represents the Lehigh Valley and part of the Poconos in Congress, faces a close race in the November mid-term election against Democrat Bob Brooks. The 7th District is considered a toss up, and a critical swing district for whichever party has control of the House.

The visit also comes as the president struggles in his approval ratings; a Franklin & Marshall poll released last week shows his rating among Pennsylvania voters at 29%, a second-term low.
