BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Police say a man is expected to survive after being stabbed multiple times in Bethlehem, as authorities now search for the accused.
The stabbing happened on the 600 block of Atlantic Street around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A media release from police says officers responded to the home to find an adult male with four stab wounds to his upper back and neck.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment, and the injuries do not appear life-threatening.
The victim told police that his neighbor, identified as Jean Carlos Rodriguez-Ortiz, was the person who stabbed him.
The victim also told police Rodriguez-Ortiz appeared to be intoxicated, and made rude comments towards a guest of the victim. A police report continues to say that a short time later, Rodriguez-Ortiz called out to the victim to apologize, and when the victim approached to speak with him, Rodriguez-Ortiz stabbed him multiple times.
Officials say video footage obtained from a residential camera of the assault confirmed the victim’s statements to police.
Rodriguez-Ortiz fled the area prior to police arrival. Police have obtained an arrest warrant for him, charging him with aggravated assault and simple assault
