• A Colonial 250th Celebration, Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Road, Exeter Township, noon-8 p.m. Join us for an immersive, living history event featuring Colonial and early American demonstrations, trades, and activities. Meet Gen. George Washington and learn about life on and off the battlefield while you visit a military encampment and engage with reenactors. Listen to the Brandywine Colonials Fife and Drum Corps during the afternoon and then join us for a reading of the Declaration of Independence and live music on the lawn with the Haycreek Valley Goldband to close out the evening as we celebrate America’s 250th. • Christian pet loss support group meeting, St. John’s Reformed Church fellowship hall, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, 6:45 p.m. Sessions are led by Dr. Becky Frank, associate veterinarian with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice. • Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue will hold its monthly open house from 10 a.m. until noon at its Golden Gateway facility at 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds. Bat boxes are located throughout the Homestead property, and bats can often be spotted nesting and flying around the site. Free.

• Whoooo Goes There? Meet at the Angora Fruit Farm, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and bring a flashlight. This program is appropriate for children ages 7+ due to uneven terrain on the trail.  Free. • Guided Sunset/Full Moon Kayaking, Stilling Basin at Blue Marsh Lake, 1280 Palisades Drive, Bern Township, to Gring’s Mill Portage, Spring Township, 6 p.m. Calling all creek enthusiasts — it’s time to pull out your kayaks! We planned the perfect night to enjoy a mid-summer sunset on the water. In this guided program, we will float down the Tulpehocken Creek, enjoying the sights and sounds around us on the way. Please bring your own kayak, paddle, life vest, and planned transportation between launches. Feel free to rent a kayak to participate in this program as well!
