NEW BETHLEHEM – The Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce and its New Bethlehem businesses are looking to say “Thank you” this Friday, June 26, with the annual Customer Appreciation Day.
“This is a way for the chamber and its businesses to give back to community and customers,” chamber events coordinator Gennie Gerow said.
She noted that this year, 34 businesses are signed up for the Customer Appreciation Day passport promotion.
“You can start picking up your passports at 9 a.m. at the Alltel [Windstream] building” along Lafayette Street, Gerow said.
The free promotion, provides one passport per person, age 12 and older, to take around to the participating businesses to collect a stamp at each site.
Everyone who collects all the stamps and returns their passport to the Alltel building by 3 p.m. on Friday will be eligible for one of two grand prizes.
Gerow said this year’s grand prize for adults will feature four week-long passes to the Clarion County Fair, as well as a $100 gift card for A-Plus Sunoco Mini Mart, a $100 gift certificate for Joe’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant, a $50 gift card for Tom’s Riverside and four tickets to the Erie Zoo courtesy of The Leader-Vindicator.
For kids ages 12 to 17 who complete the passports, they will be eligible for the grand prize that includes four tickets to the Pittsburgh Zoo courtesy of The Leader-Vindicator, as well as gift certificates for Burger King ($50), Joe’s Pizza ($25), Sweet Delights ($25) and Char-Val Creamery ($25).
Not only will the people who complete passports be eligible for one of the grand prizes, Gerow said each will also receive a complimentary sheet of Chinese auction tickets.
The Chinese auction prizes, donated by local businesses, will be displayed in the Alltel building throughout the day. Additional tickets for the auctions are also available for purchase. Those who complete passports, can purchase extra sheets of the auction tickets for $5 each, while anyone else can purchase sheets for $15 each.
“We have some very nice Chinese auction gifts this year,” Gerow said.
She noted that all passports must be turned in by 3 p.m., and the drawing will take place at 3:30 p.m. It will be recorded and shared on the chamber’s Facebook page.
In addition to the passports and prizes, Gerow said Customer Appreciation Day will also feature a number of giveaways, sales and other specials offered by the participating businesses along the route. She said she knew some of the passport stops would be offering free coffee, hot dogs, drinks and more.
“We’d like to thank all the businesses that are participating this year, and those who donated auction items,” she said.
Also during the day, she said that kettle corn vendor Steve Nolf will be set up in front of Broadwood Towers.
“It’s going to be a great day, so come on out and see what the many businesses in New Bethlehem have to offer,” she said.

Leach Agency, Canyon Coffee, TechReady Professionals, Redbank Valley Public Library, A-Plus Mini Mart, Gumtown Community Market, Valley Flowers and Gifts, Trailside Tattoos and Tans, Clarion County Community Bank, Klingensmith’s Drug Store, S&T Bank, Hoak Insurance, Edgewood Heights, Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department, Village Pizza (starting at 10:30 a.m.), Shirey’s Overhead Doors, Fox’s Pizza, REMAX Missy Rupp Team, The Jewelry Shop, The Leader-Vindicator, Auto Parts Service, Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce, Broadwood Towers, Hager Law Offices, Redbank Valley Community Center, Valley Advantages, Leatherwood Academy, Uni-Mart, NAPA Fisher & Father, MPS Pro Services, Calico Systems, Goodwill and Melted Moments.
Maps of all the locations will be available with the passports.
