NAZARETH, Pa.- Although it’s officially called a tech center, a little alcove inside the Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity functions more like a community space.
And now, thanks to a $50,000 investment, it looks and feels a lot more like a space the community can actually use.
On Wednesday, representatives from Astound were at the library at 295 E. Center St. in Nazareth to present the-literally- giant check, which is paying for new desktop computers, updated furnishings, a community printer, and a digital navigation board that greets patrons when they step into the building.

“Here at the library, we strive to be a welcoming and community space where residents can access information, build skills, explore new ideas, and stay connected,” said library Executive Director Holly Bennett. “Today’s unveiling reflects that mission in a very meaningful way.”
The Nazareth library serves patrons from Nazareth Borough, Bushkill Township, Lower Nazareth Township, and Upper Nazareth Township.
Previously, many of the library’s public computers were outdated and unreliable. Patrons hoping to use the computers for functions like searching for a job or joining a tele-health visit with a doctor were out of luck.
The new and improved tech center
But now the tech center can truly live up to its name. “These upgrades are not just improvements to the library, they are investments in access, confidence, and opportunity for the people who rely on this space,” said Val Hoff, vice president of the library’s board of directors.
The $50,000 grant is part of a larger $300,000 investment Astound is making across the Lehigh Valley amid an ongoing $81 million network upgrade in the region.

Astound’s Vice President of Sales, Clyde Lee III, was on hand for the brief ribbon cutting ceremony that was held for the refurbished space. “I’m just very excited to be able to help people who need a little bit more support to get to the next phase and leveling their careers and lives,” he said. “Libraries are that hub that people can really lean into.”
